After a snowy start to the season, APIK Mississauga is returning for another action-packed weekend, once again transforming Celebration Square into a full-scale urban ski and snowboard venue.
From Jan. 30 to Feb. 1, 2026, the city’s downtown core will be home to a towering ski hill, elite winter athletes, live DJs, and a festival-style atmosphere that blends sport, music, and community all in one place.
A winter competition unlike anything else in the city
APIK isn’t just a spectacle, it’s a high-level competition. More than 80 professional skiers and snowboarders from around the world will compete for a $100,000 prize purse, throwing down their most technical and creative tricks right in front of a live audience.
The event uses a jam-format competition, meaning riders rotate through the course continuously for an hour at a time. The result is constant action, with no downtime, as athletes push progression, experiment with new lines, and feed off the energy of the crowd.
Organizers describe the weekend as three days of non-stop momentum, combining performance, creativity, and style in a setting that’s usually reserved for concerts and civic events.
What’s happening each day?
The weekend is stacked from start to finish:
Friday kicks things off with snowskate and skate best trick sessions.
Saturday features the ski competition, including qualifiers and finals, followed by a best trick showdown later in the day.
Sunday wraps things up with the snowboard competition, finals, and a final best trick session before the podium celebrations.
No matter which day you show up, there’s always something happening on the hill.
More than just the competition
Beyond the slopes, APIK offers plenty to explore. Food trucks will be on-site throughout the weekend, keeping spectators fueled between runs. A pop-up village will also be set up around the square, giving visitors a chance to browse merch and local vendors while soaking in the festival vibe.
Last year’s debut edition attracted over 30,000 people, and with growing buzz around the event, this year’s turnout is expected to be even bigger.
The best part? It’s completely free
There’s no ticket required to attend. You can walk right into Celebration Square, grab a spot near the hill, and watch world-class winter athletes compete just steps away from Mississauga’s city hall.
